ABOUT US

"If you want to be perfect, go sell what you own, give it to the poor, then come follow Me".

(MT,19,21)

"Every vocation is a gift from God which must be implored by prayer and merits by the witness of a holy life."

(Pope John Paul II)

FORMATION

Would you like to explore the possibilities of becoming a Sister, a member of the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate?

Our community accepts:

Women who feel called to religious life
-who want to get closer to God
-who want to dedicate their life totally to God
-who want to serve God as an active Sister.

POSTULANCY

Approximately one year - to discern whether God is indeed calling you to this Congregation.

NOVITIATE

Two years - to remain “in the desert” in the school of Jesus, to learn the life of love.

JUNIORATE

Five years - to live the life of the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, and obedience, as a religious in temporary vows (renewed each year). This period of imitating Christ concludes with the profession of perpetual vows.

WHY NO HABIT?

"A life hidden from the world is understood simply as the pursuit of Christian perfection without any outward signs (...). Our Savior lived a life hidden from the world. His divine mission, origin and dedication to God and to the cause of salvation were hardly known to anyone. (...) Later, after having stepped out to proclaim the Holy Gospel, he would often go back into hiding, either to avoid being worshiped or to escape persecution. Therefore, they who hide from the world their higher aspirations and their dedication to God and to the cause of the salvation of souls (...) imitate the model of the highest sanctity."

“The life of every religious is for some reason hidden from the world, but the manner of that concealment varies.... Today the hidden life is such an appropriate and indispensable form that without it religious life itself would not be able to survive and it would be almost impossible to sustain and support faith and morality among the faithful.”

(Blessed Father Honorat)

Father Honorat saw the persecution and elimination of religious orders as a sign of God’s work that would lead to the rebirth of the ideal of religious life, i.e. to imitating Christ the SERVANT who “came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mk 10:45) This principle of service constitutes the essence of the Christian spirit and, even more so, the essence of the spirit of religious life where it is important not only to set an example but also to exhibit selfless, Samaritan love to others and an attitude of responsibility for other human beings.

Just as Christ came as the gift of salvation for the world, so should the sisters be completely dedicated to the service of other people.

One of our Blessed Founder’s greatest desires was:

“...to place in the world souls dedicated to God and filled with the spirit of the religious life who will set an example of Christian perfection, support the faith and piety, and strive to the best of their ability for the conversion of hearts and for the restoration in our country of that zeal typical of the first Christians.”

(Blessed Father Honorat)

TESTIMONIAL

My name is Agnieszka and I want to share with you how Jesus brought me to His love and to the discovery of my own vocation. The first witness to God’s love in my life was my grandmother who, in my opinion, went to the Lord too quickly. I began to rebel because of this. I decided that there was no God, because God would not take our loved ones away from us. I took my life in my own hands. Everything was fine until suffering came. I was unable to explain it and to carry it all by myself. I was very fortunate to meet some young people, members of the Renewal in the Spirit movement, who helped me to return to the Lord. Through various retreats and community meetings, my suffering, rebellion, and emptiness became a place of encounter with God’s healing love. Finally, there came a moment when I felt in my heart that Jesus was calling me to a special kind of love. At first, I did not understand it. I had a boyfriend. A struggle began in my soul. What does Jesus want from me? I began to pray a lot and this allowed me to leave my dreams, people, my personal plans, in order to have only Jesus. But how and where?... During a retreat I met Sisters Servants and I was convinced that this was it! But the road to the final decision was not at all easy. Someone took care to create obstacles... I know now that I found my happiness, love and fulfillment. The decision I made was correct and today - at the level of juniorate in the Congregation, having spent a year in Rome and experienced the religious life a little - I rejoice in my vocation. JESUS is the one who fills my heart and inspires it with His love!
