Provincial Chapter of the American Province of our Congregation

On March 17-18, 2018, the Provincial Chapter of the American Province of our Congregation was held at the Provincial House in Catonsville. It began with Mass with Father Brad Milunski, OFMConv., vicar provincial of the Franciscan Fathers. Father Brad, referring to the gospel of the day, took up the topic of unity, for which we pray in every Mass. and the subject of division, which easily sneaks into the lives of every person, even those called to the exclusive service of God. We, who profess and believe in Jesus and respond to His call, are committed to building unity, especially in our own community.

The deliberations of the chapter gave us the opportunity to take a closer look at the quality of life of our communities, the good in them, any current neglects, our daily apostolate and emerging concerns for the future. The sisters shared their thoughts on community life, life of prayer and the irreplaceable value of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Although many changes take place around us, the foundation of consecrated life remains unchanged - our religious life is the sacrament of "hiding with Christ in God". But it is also has to be sensitive to the challenges and signs of our modern time.

The next day started with a conference lead by Father Brad. He compared the ideal community to the Holy Trinity, in which each person has his or her place and each person is important. Part of the chapter's Sunday session was open to all the sisters of the Province. During this time, the sisters presented the ministries in which they work and their daily challenges and the joy of serving. The time of our chapter was a great grace from God and gave everyone encouragement for even greater care for the good of our home communities.
